Halifax MA Pride Events: Celebrating Community on the South Shore
Posted on May 29th, 2026 to Guides by Flower and Soul
Halifax Pride is part of what makes June in Southeastern Massachusetts feel different. This is a smaller town celebration with real community investment behind it. And Flower & Soul dispensary, right on Plymouth Street, is glad to be part of the community that makes it happen.
Halifax MA LGBTQ Events: What’s Coming This Year
1. Boston Pride for the People
Saturday, June 6, 2026 — 11 AM parade start
Boston Pride for the People grew out of a coalition of grassroots organizers, LGBTQ+ leaders, and community members who wanted to build something that actually reflected the people it claimed to represent.
The event honors the legacy of the Stonewall riots and specifically acknowledges the queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, and people of color who were at the center of that movement long before it became mainstream. There’s a real emphasis on education, helping younger generations understand LGBTQ+ history and the ongoing fight against systems that do harm, especially to those facing multiple layers of marginalization.
2. Road of Rainbows 2026
Saturday, June 6, 2026
Road of Rainbows is Boston Theater Company’s annual Pride 5K and festival, held at Boston Common, and it draws thousands of people from across New England who come for the race and stay for the full-day experience around it.
The event is deliberately structured to be accessible: admission is pay-what-you-can with free tickets available, the course accommodates all fitness levels, everything is gender-neutral, and the event is both ASL interpreted and ADA accessible. There will be live performances, local vendors, and community partners, all set against the backdrop of one of the busiest Pride weekends in the city. Proceeds go directly toward supporting Boston Theater Company and funding queer artists and public programming in the area!
3. Pride South Coast 2026
Saturday, June 6 — 12 PM to 5 PM
Pride South Coast 2026 marks ten years of the South Coast LGBTQ+ Network bringing this event to the region, and it lands on Saturday at Weir River Waterfront Park in Taunton. Admission is free to attend and open to all ages.
The musical lineup is rooted in local talent, headlined by Rebecca Correia out of Rochester, MA, with the ten-piece ska band The NB Rude Boys from New Bedford opening the afternoon. Beyond the stage, the park fills out with local vendors, food trucks, nonprofit booths, and a family zone with room for kids and lawn chairs. (If you want to get in early on the festivities, there’s also an 18+ launch party on June 1 at Free Play bar arcade in Taunton for $8 in advance.)
4. Plymouth Pride Festival
Sunday, June 28, 2026 — 11 AM to 5 PM
Plymouth Pride Festival takes over Nelson Memorial Park on Sunday, June 28. This is free to attend and right on the water in Plymouth, MA. The park is a natural fit for it: there’s beach access, a splash pad and playground for families, and a big open lawn where you can set up a chair and take in the drag performances, live music, and entertainment.
Vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, and even a pet contest round out the day, so there’s something going on no matter where you wander. If you want to stretch the day further, the official 21+ after party runs from 5 PM to 9 PM at Hotel 1620 just down the street.
5. Boston Black Pride
Multi-Day Celebration
Boston Black Pride is an event put on by the Boston LesBiGay Urban Foundation, specifically centered on Black LGBTQ+ culture, joy, and community-building in the city. The weekend spans a range of experiences, including live performances, parties, wellness events, and a signature Parade and Music & Arts Festival. The foundation behind it treats the event as a vehicle for real community change, with an emphasis on building genuine connections among QTBIPOC individuals rather than simply throwing a party. Tickets and weekend passes are available through their website, and they’re also actively seeking vendors, performers, and volunteers who want to be part of it.
